We're loving how our space is coming along and have been dying to share it (side note: being able to live with your sister is the best). I can always find a little bit of inspiration in anyone's home. So, I hope you find some here! It's really been the coolest to be able to document how far we've come, thanks to this blog.
When we first moved in I was totally overwhelmed. I had no idea what to buy and I just wanted everything to be perfect and finished - not so much to ask, right? It helps having a friend who loves going to HomeGoods just as much as you do and has a great eye (she's actually profesh!). So, our decorating process started out with a big haul at the HG with Sara. That trip really helped to get things going around here.
Sara helped me pick out some great accent pieces and, pretty importantly, a color pallet. We had this big huge, gray couch and I needed to spice it up. She found me my purple and orange decorative pillows. The orange ones are not pictured here, but orange has always been one of my favorite colors. As I spent months (and months) thinking about what I wanted for this room, I found that I was constantly being drawn to a more a simple, neutral room than I was a punchy, eclectic room (which I initially thought was so me). So, orange is out for right now, but purple is a neutral (in my mind) so they get to stay.

Taking on your own interior design project? Here are our tips (so far):
1. Buy, buy, buy. And then return. You really have to see it in the space to know for sure sometimes.
2. Make a Pinterest board of rooms that you like, let a few months pass and then go back and look for similarities. If you see a lot of something, that means you really like it.
3. Be patient. It's going to take f o r e v e r. Let your style evolve.
