Jewel Tones

It helps if you shop for colors that play well with others. I knew I was a fan of jewel tones, mainly because they flatter any skin tone so can be worn all year round (lord knows, this girl misses her summer glow). So one day, while shoe shopping, I decided a burgundy pump would be a good color to own. I'll be honest though, sometimes I really have to force myself to wear them!

I was debating between a taupe bootie or a nude pump, but I'm glad I went with these in the end. I sometimes think of jewel tones as fancy, but I urge you to try pairing them with nudes and neutrals for a more every day look. However, if I had wanted to dress up my citrine blazer and burgundy pumps, I could have easily reached for a black blouse and my trusty Chanel. Dressed up or down, I think we agree that everyone should have some jewel tones hanging in their closets.
